Grant for Education
Brief Description
This project aims to create a couple of free courses on YouTube (one technical with code on GitHub and the other non-technical) to teach Spanish-speaking people about the UMA Protocol and its ecosystem of apps so that they can be encouraged to participate in the ecosystem, creating new products and services under this technology.
Detailed description
The proposal consists of 2 courses in Spanish, with the following:
- 1 non-technical course, explaining every detail of UMA Protocol, and UMA token, and showing examples of applications made with this technology.
- 1 technical course with a technical explanation of UMA and showing the creation of a project using and extracting data through UMA, with the step by step of creation of the project with its code available and published on GitHub.
All the courses will be freely published on Youtube and each course will have short videos (2 to 10 minutes per video) to facilitate people’s learning.
The advantage of creating these courses is that they would teach Spanish-speaking Latin Web3 programmers about how to work and the advantages of the UMA Protocol so that they can implement it in their applications or ideas that they already have.
What would UMA lose out on if it did not fund this grant
The Latino community learning and working on Web3 is growing every day and new products and startups are created. The problem is that many people still do not understand English very well and depend on courses and tutorials in Spanish, which are outdated or there are only few technologies, for example at the oracle level there are only courses on Chainlink.
Losing that community by not sharing information in Spanish can lose a large mass of motivated people with great ideas to create products throughout the continent.
How many UMA tokens are you requesting for this project?
4000
What percentage of the grant would you retain to secure the Optimistic Oracle by voting
60
How would you spend the remainder of the grant?
The rest would be used as payment for the time dedicated to preparing, creating and publishing the courses made.
How many months would this grant cover?
3
